THE STATION AT WYNNE’S GUT

Built in 1963, The Station at Wynne’s Gut began its life as a Gulf gas station in the heart of downtown Belhaven, NC. Designed in a classic mid-century modern style, the building featured an office on the right-hand side and three bays with glass doors on the left, where mechanics serviced cars from across eastern North Carolina.

THE HERRINGBONE

In 1896, a massive ice house was built on the bank of the Albemarle Sound to support the thriving Herring fishing industry. After watching this building remain empty for decades, Down East Preservation partnered with a local couple to restore the building into a stunning new restaurant.

Beginning in January of 2023, Down East Preservation collaborated with the owners of Blue Moon Beach Grill located in Nags Head, NC to deliver a unique finished design that allowed the stories of the Outer Banks to naturally unfold.
